A very different kind of Miami trip
I’ve been to Miami more times than I can count—but this trip was completely different. We visited when my son was two years old and I was 26 weeks pregnant, which meant slower mornings, afternoon naps, comfortable shoes, and zero nightlife (by choice).
Instead of late dinners and packed schedules, this trip was all about kid-friendly activities, hotel downtime, and listening to my body while still enjoying one of our favorite cities.

Miami Marlins Game (Surprisingly Kid-Friendly)
One of our favorite memories from the trip was taking our son to a Miami Marlins game. The stadium was incredibly family-friendly, and honestly… the arena has some of the best food. If you’re pregnant and craving everything, this was a win.
It was an easy, seated activity that let us experience Miami without overstimulating our toddler—or exhausting me.

Half Day at Jungle Island
We spent a half day at Jungle Island, which was the perfect amount of time with a toddler. It’s outdoors, interactive, and easy to walk through without feeling rushed.
Pro tip: Go early in the day before the heat really kicks in.
Brickell Shopping & Mini Golf
We stayed close to Brickell City Centre, which made shopping super convenient. It’s air-conditioned, stroller-friendly, and has plenty of food options.
We also went to Puttshack for mini golf. It was a fun, unexpected activity that worked surprisingly well with a toddler and gave us something different to do without committing to a full day.
Bayside Marketplace & the
Terrifying
Observation Wheel
We walked around Bayside Marketplace, stopped at Sugar Factory for treats, and then decided to ride the Skyviews Observation Wheel.
I’ll be honest—it was horrifying. Between being pregnant and watching my toddler move around the gondola, I spent most of the ride mentally preparing for the worst. Would I do it again? Probably not. But it’s definitely memorable.

Museum of Ice Cream
The Museum of Ice Cream was a huge hit with our son. Bright colors, interactive rooms, and ice cream everywhere—it’s toddler heaven.
If you’re pregnant, just know it’s a lot of walking, but still very doable if you take your time and take breaks when needed.

Hotel Pool Day (A Must)
One full day was dedicated to the hotel pool, and honestly—it was necessary. Being pregnant in Miami heat while traveling with a toddler means rest days are non-negotiable.
This slower pace made the entire trip more enjoyable for everyone.
Where We Ate (Keeping It Real)
Because of our son’s nap schedule and my pregnancy cravings, we mostly ate lunch at the hotel and ordered delivery at night. It worked so well and kept evenings calm and predictable.
That said, Pura Vida was our favorite lunch spot. Fresh, healthy, fast, and perfect for toddlers and pregnant moms.

Final Thoughts
I go to Miami all the time—but this trip reminded me how much travel changes when you add a toddler and pregnancy into the mix. We skipped nightlife, avoided packed restaurants, and leaned into slower days and simple plans.
And honestly? It was still such a special trip—just a different version of Miami.
