Jaxon’s First Birthday Celebration
Jaxon officially wrapped up his rookie year, and we celebrated his first birthday with an all-out baseball-themed party that felt fun, meaningful, and perfectly him.
From the outfits to the decor to the little keepsakes we’ll treasure forever, this party was all about celebrating our little rookie and the year that changed everything for us.
The Look
We leaned into the baseball theme from the very beginning. Jaxon wore a baseball outfit that instantly set the tone, and we matched him with coordinating jerseys for Mom and Dad. It made the photos feel cohesive and added such a fun, personal touch to the day.

Invitations & Photos
Before the party, we took Jaxon to our local baseball field for a mini photo shoot. Those photos were used for his birthday invitations, which were designed to look like custom baseball tickets. It was such a fun way to introduce the theme and made the invites feel extra special.
Party Setup & Decor
One of my favorite DIY projects was the baseball backdrop. We made it using white foam boards and painted red stripes to look like baseball stitching. It ended up being the main focal point and photo area for the party.
We also added a balloon arch and balloon accents to bring everything together. Hobby Lobby had great baseball-themed decor pieces that helped fill in the space without going overboard.
Activities
Since Jaxon and many of our guests are still little, we included toddler soft play so everyone could actually enjoy the party. The setup included a bounce house, tunnel slide, and carousel, and it was a huge hit.

Food & Snacks
We kept the food simple and fun. We created a baseball concession stand with classic snacks like Cracker Jacks, peanuts, chips, candy bars, pretzels, bubble gum, and sunflower seeds. Everything was set up so guests could grab snacks whenever they wanted.
For the main food, we served hot dogs and burgers to keep things easy and budget-friendly.
Special Touches
One of the most meaningful details from the day was the autograph station. We had a home plate out for guests to sign with Sharpies, which turned into one of our favorite keepsakes from Jaxon’s first birthday.
We also loved styling small decor moments around the party, including a “ONE” table with baseball-themed letters and photos from Jaxon’s first year.

Smash Cake Moment
Jaxon had his own baseball smash cake and sat in his high chair while we all sang Happy Birthday. The attention was a little overwhelming for him, which gave us the sweetest mix of curiosity and uncertainty — a moment we’ll never forget.

Matching Jerseys Moment
One of my favorite photos from the day was a candid shot from behind of all three of us in our matching jerseys. It perfectly captured how this year felt — us, learning as we go, cheering on our little rookie.

Jaxon may not remember his rookie year, but we always will. From the planning to the little details to the moments that didn’t go exactly as planned, this day was everything we hoped it would be.
Here’s to many more seasons ahe
